Washi Tape Thank You Cards and Vintage Wedding Photo

I stocked up on some cute washi tape during Two Peas in a Bucket's Black Friday sale:

I felt like all those washi tapes worked so well together that I made a couple of thank you cards to send out:

While at my aunt's house in New Jersey earlier this month, she showed me some of her photo albums, one of which included this photo of my grandparents (excuse the fact that this is a picture of a picture, in meh lighting, at night):


I love it! It's weird/interesting/fun seeing pictures of your grandparents, who you've only ever known to be old, as young people. I hope the way I feel when I see pictures like this is the way my kids and grandkids will feel when they look at my scrapbooking. :D

December 2010 Mini Album

Greg and I are fans of The Colbert Report, for reasons such as this quote:

"What is art? It's a three-letter word for disappointing your parents!"
Ha! And now for an artsy project . . .

I thought it'd be neat if I actually finished my December mini albums for the past couple of years before trying to tackle a December 2012 mini album.

Although I like the idea of a December Daily album à la Ali Edwards, I've just found it doesn't fit in well with our "real life" to document December on a daily basis. I end up just documenting notable events throughout the month/holiday season, as well as include all the holiday cards we receive. It's more in line with Elise Blaha Cripe's approach (whose Seafoam Project Life kit I'm coveting, by the way).

I wrapped up this December 2010 mini album a couple weeks ago, but didn't get a chance to blog about it in the flurry of some recent life changes.
