Sometimes I think it's a shame that pictures turn out blurry or aren't framed very artistically or whatever. But that's life. And at the end of the day, I think it's more important that we took the pictures, because when I look back at the pictures, I still enjoy it even if it wasn't a perfect picture.

Underwater Camera
We got an underwater camera. Here's us trying it out in the pool.

San Diego Weekend
A couple weekends ago, we went to San Diego for a long weekend. It was a nice trip and we did some fun things with Evie, including the San Diego Zoo and the carousel at Seaport Village.
The zookeeper said that this mama orangutan likes babies:
Daddy panda!
Baby giraffe!
This is what Evie is like petting the goats: "I just want to love you!"
She's not too sure about this whole riding on horses thing, therefore, major clinging to daddy:
A bench on the carousel was more up her alley:
Laugh-out-loud happy on the carousel:

Silhouette Burst Thx Card
Oof. Last time I blogged was over two weeks ago? Guess that's what happens when you're living life / busy at work / sick.
We went to San Diego for a long weekend earlier in the month and stayed with Greg's uncle and aunt. As a little thank you, we brought along some items from the Phoenix farmer's market - olive oil from Queen Creek Olive Mill, Hatch Green Chile Sauce from Terra Verde Farms, and picked asparagus from Pickled Perfection. I also made this card to go with:
We had a nice little trip. The weather was good (a tad on the hot side for San Diego, but still good compared to Phoenix) and we took Evie to places like the zoo and the carousel at Seaport Village.

That's Not My Name
Greg has been calling me "Sheng Xin Ren" all over the place, since we've been watching Office Girls and that's the name of the main character (I have a Chinese name, dagnabbit, and that's not it!). In response, I played this song for him:
He came back with this:
Ouch. What a punk. But he makes me laugh.

Office Girls
My TV obsession of late (I guess Greg too, because he's been watching with me) has been this Taiwanese show called Office Girls (official site) on Hulu Plus:
The theme is this 不要不要 song by Genie Chuo (this was the best video of it I could find on YouTube):
TELL ME THAT SONG ISN'T CATCHY. 'Cause it is. Even if I don't understand all of it.
Watching the show makes me realize that my Mandarin vocabulary is perhaps bigger than I thought. Maybe if we watch shows in Mandarin around Evie, she will pick up more of it. :)

Black and White Card with Accent Colors
Made a card this weekend with the colors of this inspiration photo on the Simon Says Stamp Challenge Blog by Kristina Werner:
The card:
I thought the accent colors were pretty as-is, all lined up in the inspiration photo, so I used it on the card like that.
In retrospect, heat embossing with white powder would have made it a whiter white (as well as a crisper image, probably), as opposed to using white chalk ink. The stamp for the frame is this one from Prima Marketing, that I masked in certain places while stamping to get a longer frame. The "thank you" stamp is from a BasicGrey set (Crumpets).
