Tonto Natural Bridge Layout

I have fond memories of going to Tonto Natural Bridge on church outings when I was younger, but it's been years since I've been there. We went camping a couple weekends ago and decided that since we were passing through Payson, we'd might as well make a stop there since it is just north of Payson.

We hiked down to the creek, under the bridge, and back up the other side. It was awesome. And it necessitated a scrapbook page, which is pretty much the fastest page I have ever put together because it was just one photo with me shooting from under the bridge out towards the sky (clouds were fluffy that day!), plus some text I added in Photoshop Elements.

That's Greg at the bottom looking out from under the bridge. In case you couldn't tell.

Newborn Photo Session - Brooklyn

Greg shot some photos a few weeks ago of his co-worker Jeff's newborn, Brooklyn. They turned out super cute, along with some shots of big sister Maylee. I'm a fan of the tutu that Jeff's wife, Heidi, made - girl clothes are more fun than boy clothes. :)

We actually did two nights of photos. First night Brooklyn was not having any of it, but second night she slept more. There was also a little snafu the first night with the whole naked baby approach. Naked baby = no diaper = mess all down daddy's clothes. Heh.

On my way to a CPA!

Lots of peeps getting their CPA exam results the past couple days. My anxiety level was starting to ratchet up while waiting for mine. What if I didn't pass?! In the words of Lolcats, "Noooeeesss!"

Big mental sigh of relief yesterday morning when I got my REG results. And with that, I've passed all four sections. Hooray!

Next steps:
  • Ethics exam
  • Application process

Amano Bistro

We've probably driven by this little Amano Bistro place on 16th St. and Baseline hundreds of times since we moved to the West side and have never stopped to try it.

Last night, we decided try it out. It was really good. Fantastic, even. (And that says a lot coming from me, Ms. Neutral). Unfortunately, I got so excited when the food came that we were almost done with dinner before it occurred to me that I should've taken pictures of the food. Boo.

We ordered:
  • Seared provolone with spinach and red peppers. (I defy you to tell me that grilled cheese - which is basically what seared provolone is - isn't delish).
  • Margherita pizza. (Classic yummy).
  • Penne with sausage, mushrooms, and sun dried tomato pesto. (I actually liked the sausage. I'm usually pretty picky about sausage).
  • Balsamic strawberries with vanilla bean ice cream. (Mmmm . . . I'd go there again and just get this dessert).

It was a nice little date place. We're trying to eat out less to (a) save money and (b) be less fatty, but we'll definitely go back. It seemed like an Aunt Kris type of place, for whenever she visits Phoenix next time. :)

Scallop and Damask Wedding Card

Man. Long time no blog. Craftiness has gone by the wayside for the last couple weeks since Greg and I were watching a show on Netflix (Dead Like Me). There are a bunch of other shows on Netflix that I wouldn't mind watching (Weeds, Dexter, Lost, plus whatever other shows or movies I might come across).

Took some time this week to make a wedding card for a couple of Greg's work friends that got married recently. Happy with the way the card turned out design-wise, though I think the stamping could use some improvement.

Next up in the show/movie queue: The Pacific. (At least that's what I'll be pushing for. I might get vetoed).

Grad Announcement Pictures - Lydia

A few months ago, I volunteered Greg to take some graduation announcement photos for Lydia (who I knew growing up). I like the top-down pose at the bottom the best.

My job during these photo shoots is to hold the light reflector. :)

Since Greg is typically the photographer, it's harder for me to get good pictures of the two of us (I've scrapbooked the Cesar Chavez photos more than once already). I'm looking forward to having my friend Lee Anne take some photos when she's in town next time. Hopefully it's not too hot to wear cute stuff (but I say that knowing pretty well that it will be stinkin' hot).
