50% Joy

Joy! I'm done with my partnership tax class! But since that is only 1 out of 2 classes, it's only half the joy until tomorrow night at 8:00ish when I'm ALL done with classes.

Although we got out of class early tonight, it was still a little painful. We went over a discussion case that was along the line of "How should the partnership structure this transaction?" Ooh. Eee. Wow. I think it might be useful if I actually knew what a 1031 like-kind exchange was.

Still have a final tomorrow night, for which I'm studying and making the note sheet for tonight. I'm waiting for the Starbucks Doubleshot Energy + Coffee drink I just downed to kick in. I could also use some motivation.

Magazine Gift Bow

After perusing the contents of an ASCPA newsletter, I used the cover to make this gift bow from How About Orange.

Turned out fantastic. I put one of these babies on Stephanie's baby gift (made out of an RHI ad, just for her). Who ever needs to buy gift bows again? All the possibilities with pretty ribbons and scrapbooking paper . . .

Greg and I aren't huge on holidays/birthdays/anniversaries, but we spent the morning catching up on some shows (Psych and White Collar), then went to Charleston's for lunch (it was delicious). Pretty low-key for Valentine's, but we enjoy low-key.

Repeating Thx Card

An idea popped into my head to stamp this "thx" in a grid all over. All in black, except one in color (which I chose to be red for this card). I like the result. Greg did too, except for the kraft cardstock. He thinks I use it too much.

Many Thanks Asian Doll Card

The Asian doll (I'm assuming my two doll choices were Chinese and Japanese and I picked the Chinese one, naturally) and lanterns were calling to be stamped in black and colored with pencils.

Stamp set was courtesy of Stephanie. At some point, I think I'll use it with some Chinese character stamps that Greg got me.

Hooray-I'm-Done-With-School List

Two weeks left and I made a list of things I want to do when I'm done with school. I call it my Hooray-I'm-Done-With-School list.

- Watch Season 1 of True Blood that Greg got me
- Finish reading The Southern Vampire Mysteries series (on which TrueBlood was based)
- Take sewing classes / learn how to sew
- Make this pleated purse from My Spare Time
- Take quilting classes / learn how to quilt
- Take golf lessons / learn how to golf

I will probably accomplish only a couple of things on the list before it becomes the Hooray-I'm-Done-With-The-CPA-Exam list.
