Tammie Coe Cupcakes

Delivered to my craft room: cupcakes
Delivered by: Greg
End result: yummy in my tummy

TammieCoeCupcakes

Greg brought me cupcakes from Tammie Coe Cakes. I've never heard of it before, but no one here is turning down cupcakes. (I also wouldn't classify myself as a foodie, and even though I've been living in Phoenix for most of my life, I doubt I know all there is to know about good places to eat here).

It was a nice little surprise after getting back from my "working session" for class. I have a test a week for the next two weeks. Bummer.

Side note: Greg is so nice, he even dropped off cupcakes for a couple girls in his office who he knew were working today.

A = L + OE

Ah, yes. The basic Accounting equation. Assets = Liabilities + Owners' Equity.

I've become intimately reacquainted with the balance sheet since my summer class started. I was commenting to Greg that in the course of completing many a consolidated balance sheets, I've developed a disproportionate fear of the assets not equaling the liabilities and owners' equity.

This is, of course, not in a "real world" setting, but in a "do these assigned homework problems if you want to do well in the class" setting. Greg tells me that in the "real world," it doesn't happen very often - if at all - that the debits don't equal the credits (by virtue of it being a double entry accounting system and all that good stuff). Unfortunately, that doesn't really help me when doing homework problems. Or tests. Or having to write about variable interest entities. Bleh.

Hambly Goodies

I scored a Hambly gift certificate off of a design team member's blog (Kara Haupt) a little while ago and this is what I ended up getting with it (I was pretty indecisive at first):

The $7.95 shipping was a drag, but when the package came earlier this week, there were extra papers and overlays included (and some stickers). At first I thought it was a mistake, but then I saw this in a newsletter: "As always, when you place an order at the Hambly Store, we will throw in a few free goodies." Um . . . sweet!

I'm looking forward to playing around with the papers, once I have more time.

So Glad It's the Weekend

But sad that the weekend is half over.

This is what my week looked like:
Monday/Wednesday/Friday - work and homework
Tuesday/Thursday - work and school

Now repeat four more times, because that's how long my summer class is. :(
Note that nowhere above does it mention Greg. Poor Greg. I think I will be perpetually behind in my summer class and largely neglecting Greg for the duration of the class.

Some random thoughts because that's all I have after a week chock full of work + school:

Yesterday morning, I broke out a new bottle of Method Daily Shower Spray. This may seem inconsequential, but it's pretty great for avoiding cleaning. "No elbow grease required" indeed. Well, more like minimal elbow grease, but I can live with that. They've got some good advice on their website: "for best results, start with a clean shower." True that. Anyway, my point was that I discovered that the spray nozzle is much improved (i.e., finer mist with less effort) from the old bottle that we've been using for at least two years. Yay.

A glass of cold orange juice does a good job of quenching thirst. But I only had half a glass and I'm still thirsty, so I better go back for my other half.

Before school started up this week, Greg and I watched Band of Brothers again last week. In time for the anniversary of D-Day, though that's not why we watched it. Such a good series. World War II history is so interesting.

Despite it being the weekend, I'm still stuck doing a bunch of homework in an attempt to get caught up. Sigh. But, Greg did make a very good point earlier: class is 20% over!

Self-Portrait Layout

I finished a layout in record time! I started it on a Thursday and finished it on a Saturday night while Greg had a Halo party at our house.

Not sure that I'm a big fan of self-portraits, but I gave it a try. Woo hoo.
