It didn't turn out quite like anticipated. There was some burning of chow mein involved. I think we might stick with making chow mein the "old-fashioned" way on the stove.

Wok Experiment
In an attempt to make up for the lack of a gas stove in our kitchen, Greg tried to stir-fry some chow mein using this giant wok and propane burner in our backyard:

Crinkled Paper Flowers Card
Weather today is nice - warm and breezy. Greg and I sat outside a bit and enjoyed the weather. Makes me very unmotivated to do any work.
I've seen some crinkled paper flowers (or variations of it) around recently, including in this February Year in Cards Class with Kristina Werner on Two Peas in a Bucket.
It prompted me to make this card:
I broke out the Fanciful Dots set I got from Unity Stamp Company for the centers. It seems that this set has been discontinued though, since I can't find it on their website.

Turquoise & Raspberry "Little Note" Card
Made this card this past week during spring break:
(Spring break from school, not spring break from work).
I've found that cardmaking is good for (a) using up scraps, (b) using paper that I wouldn't otherwise use for scrapbooking (like the pink and blue paper at the ends), and (c) quick creative gratification.

Card Exchange - Friendship Theme
Pink and Brown Best Wishes Card
I finally broke down and got the top note die and round tab punch from Stampin' Up that I'd been eyeing.
Made a card using both last week:
Just went to another card exchange on Friday. Debating if I should use Photoshop Elements to do a little photo montage of all the cards. Hmm.

Post-It Flags
Greg showed me this Stuff Accountants Like blog and it's pretty funny because it's rather insightful into the minutia of accounting from an accounting firm staff- and senior-level (staff- to senior- level = fresh out of college to 4-5 years) perspective.
I don't technically work in an accounting firm and I'm not really a financial statement auditor, but what I do is similar enough that many of the observations are applicable ("Eating Hours," "Throwing People Under the Bus," "Cat 5e Ethernet Cables"). Last week, when I was putting away one of my project files, I sat there for a second feeling pretty satisfied with myself that I had organized my notes . . . with Post-It flags. Makes me sound like I fit the stereotype pretty well, doesn't it?
I would have used an orange flag for the second to last set of notes at the bottom, but I ran out. Otherwise, it would've been systematic and consistent. 'Cause that's how I (would've) roll(ed).

Globe
A couple Saturdays ago, Greg and I went with Julio and Stephanie to check out Globe during its annual Historic Home and Building Tour & Antique and Quilt Show. We decided not to pay to go on the historic home tour, but we did check out the antique show and the quilt show. Some pictures from the afternoon:
The Gila County Jail:
Ick?
Negative 4 stars!
Good idea.
The old courthouse, now a center for the arts (where the quilt show was held):
Indeed. (I should've busted out with the peace sign in this picture).
Greg's too sexy for his hair. So sexy, it hurts.
