is Greg's note box. Every so often, I photocopy some more stuff to paste onto the outside, stuff that represents shared memories.

I inadvertently missed a page while taking pictures of the mini-album, but I'm too lazy to go back and take another picture. It was the page about how Greg makes me laugh.

I promised to finish this mini-album probably two years ago and Greg has been asking me about it ever since. So finally . . . I finished it! But I also learned to not promise to finish anything. :)

"Us" 8 x 8 Album

After months of messing around with hand-made covers for an 8x8 album of Us (= Greg + Shirley only) pictures, I decided to nix the hand-made covers and just bought an 8x8 album at Jo-Ann. Modge Podge was making me frustrated with it's stickiness and warp-my-paperness, so I just set it aside.

I went through all the pictures of me and Greg since we started dating (Senior prom-ish) and chose pictures of us to document all the things we have done and places we have been together. It's an album that I plan on periodically adding pictures to.


The first page was initially intended to be on the cover:


For the actual interior pages, I stuck with a very simple page format so that it would be quick to put together and easy to mass produce (seeing as how it takes me a long time to finish projects). Just a few pages at the beginning of the album:

Where were you when . . . ?

I think today is one of those “Where were you when blank happened?” days. Maybe not as good as “Where were you when Kennedy was shot?” but that’s not the point. 50 years ago, people would have never believed the President who was sworn in today. 50 years ago, Jim Crow laws still existed. 50 years ago . . . is not that long ago.

I’m amazed. I’m excited to see what will happen, if only because it is change. Maybe it’ll be change for the better. Or change for the worse. But that all depends on who you talk to.

People are so ready for change. I think there are high expectations of Obama. Can he live up to it? We’ll see.

Rocky Point Sunset Layout

Several years ago, when Greg and I went to Rocky Point, Greg snapped this sunset picture on the beach outside of his parents' condo. It's one of my favorite pictures. I scrapbooked the sunset photo using only black and white to emphasize the colors of the sunset:


I wanted it to be a simple layout, but I feel like it's missing a little something . . . maybe around the borders. Hmm. I'm going to call it good for now though.

Photo Session - Cesar Chavez Park

Kati and Dan came over Sunday afternoon and we had ourselves a photo session! We went to Cesar Chavez Park where Greg took pictures of Kati and Dan, and Kati took pictures of us. I've been whining that I don't have enough pictures of us for scrapbooking purposes. Here are a few that I like and will probably scrapbook (once I clear my scrapbooking queue of layouts waiting to be done):




The sunset silhouette pictures turned out well - it was a nice sunset with all the clouds. It's going to be my new blog header!

Cardinals? Super Bowl?

YES.

Maybe I'm a bad person, but I only care when the home team is winning. And the Cardinals are finally winning. Sweet!

Matt's Big Breakfast

Greg and I went to Matt's Big Breakfast this morning. It's been featured on Food Network's Diners, Drive-ins and Dives, so we wanted to try it out.

Here we are! This place is pretty popular - we waited 45 minutes to an hour before we were seated. It's a pretty tiny place to begin with.


We both ordered the special - three egg scramble with applewood smoked sausage, grilled onions, and Gouda, served with toast and hash browns or homefries:


The food was pretty good - not standout, but worth a try.
