Accordion Spine Book

Looks like September is shaping up to be my slowest month for blogging yet.

On Saturday, I had my friends Emily and Lee Anne (girls that I grew up with) over for lunch and a little bit of craftiness (they had to leave early for "homework" and "studying" - as if those things even get you anywhere!).

Emily left with me a neat accordion spine book that I'm looking forward to trying out some time (just have to think of a theme):

Weekend in Tucson Layout

I finally got around to printing the photo for my layout of our weekend in Tucson. I then slapped that baby on the paper and finished the layout:

Inside the key card holder (bottom left), I put in a little itinerary of our weekend. I journaled on some hotel stationery, which is inside the envelope tucked into the postcard pocket.

Whenever we go somewhere, I end up collecting a lot of stuff (business cards, postcards, brochures, ticket stubs, etc.) - I tried to incorporate some of that into my layout (otherwise, that stuff becomes crap).

First Creating Keepsakes Convention Experience

This past Saturday, Stephanie and I went to the Creating Keepsakes Convention at the Phoenix Convention Center where we spent a few hours volunteering in the morning, then took the rest of the day to spend our discretionary (or is it disposable?) income on scrapbook supplies that we probably maybe don't really need . . . but wanted.

One of the convention shirts they were selling was this one:

Get it? "Eyelet" instead of "eye"? BUAHAHAHA. Just kidding. But not really. Obviously I thought it was cute and clever enough that I went ahead and bought one.

I also did a couple make-and-takes while there. But just the free ones. $1.50 for a make-and-take? What am I? Made of money? Don't answer that.

Card made using Timeless Touches's new "Stamp and Stitch" line:

Tag made with Tattered Angel's glimmer mist:

I ended up buying some fun new things that maybe I will get to someday, though at my current pace, that won't happen any time soon:

Stephanie and I also took a class (making a layout with Technique Tuesday products), since we got a class voucher for volunteering. I didn't finish my layout though, so no pictures.

Finally, when I got home, I found these in my craft room:

Smells good . . . Thanks, Greg!

Crafty Get-together with Work Friends

I'm behind on my blogging, therefore this is a somewhat belated post.

A couple Fridays ago, I had a scrapbooking/crafty get-together at my house (in my craft room, thank you very much) with Stephanie, Cindy, and Deanna:

Cindy scrapbooked pages for an album, Stephanie worked on a mini-book of wedding pictures (which I think she should post pictures of!), and for Deanna, this was her first time being all uber-crafty (she worked on a card). I think perhaps the amount of stuff we had between the three of us (me/Stephanie/Cindy) was overwhelming for Deanna (oh, the choices!).

There were more options than normal since Stephanie literally had her entire scrapbook room in the trunk of her car (for real - Cricut, Cuttlebug, paper, supplies . . .). We ended up scrapbooking until about two or three in the morning. That's how hardcore we were. It was way fun though - we probably wasted a good amount of time just chatting it up about work, people, husbands (tee hee - I love you, Greg!), and of course, scrapbooking.

I'm totally ready for another get-together. But I don't think Greg is. He made/prepared all the food (thanks Greg!), but was not allowed to join in on the fun - not that he would have wanted to.

Instant Book

I made an Instant Book for Greg after seeing it on the Hero Arts blog. I made it simple so I could finish it quickly - same stamps on every page, but slightly different journaling.

I almost forgot that I had a set of journaling block stamps until I looked through my stamps. I think I'm very "out of sight, out of mind" with scrapbooking stuff that I have.
