Card Exchange Inspiration

So the theme of this last card exchange was just blank cards. Sounds easy, right? I found when I got down to making my cards that "blank" is a lot harder than "thank you" or "birthday."

Here's what I came up with:

I always get all crafty-inspired when I see other people's cards. Here's what everyone else came up with:

And a little extra - an invite card to a National Scrapbooking Day shindig:

Facebook Requests

Okay, for real. What is up with all these different Facebook requests?

FacebookRequests

"Knighthood invitation"? "Which Jane Austen he request"?! What does that even mean? Am I uncultured for not knowing?

Paper Studio Supply Run

Took the day off from homework yesterday to make a trip to some paper stores to get supplies for the card exchange make-and-take that I am planning.

I had ideas of hitting up The Paper Studio, Mystic Paper, and Scrapbooks Etc., but I only made it as far as The Paper Studio before thoughts of driving out to East Mesa compelled me to simply buy all my supplies at The Paper Studio.

Before yesterday, I hadn't been to The Paper Studio in a couple years (since buying decorative paper for invitations and a guest book for our wedding). The owners have added/expanded a lot of items since the last time I was there. I can't begin to articulate the joy of walking into a paper store and seeing racks upon racks of pretty paper just hanging there for the buying.

The paper and ribbon I bought for the make-and-takes:

Yummy Name Stamps

So last February, I had a hankering for these sweet address stamps that I saw online. The only trouble was, at the time, we didn't really have an address.

Then, a couple months ago, I saw this blog post about stamps from Expressionery.com that were 30% off. Hmm . . . I like what I see.

A few weeks ago, I get "Obscure Crafts Quarterly" (a.k.a. what Greg dubs Creating Keepsakes, which is actually not quarterly OR obscure) in the mail and in it, there is an ad for personalized stamps from Expressionery.com for 30% off. Try as I might, however, I just could not bring myself to get one.

Long story short - Greg was splurge-y on me and ended up getting me these:

Greg also got this address stamp, which I decided against posting because I'm just paranoid like that.

:) Greg is good to me.

Wedding Season!

Invited to two weddings in one year? Man, we must be popular! Or, we're just getting to a time in our lives when all our friends are getting married. But I like to think we're popular . . .
