Gregism: "If we have a daughter . . . "

"If we have a daughter, I want to name her 'Evelyn Karnos' and have her middle name start with 'E' so that her initials will be 'EEK'!"

Scrapbooking? Scandal? Together?

I just got a whiff of how serious this scrapbooking business is when I came across these blog entries discussing the Creating Keepsakes scrapbooking scandal (official response here).

Yes, you read right - "scrapbooking" and "scandal" in the same sentence!

You say "tomato" . . .

I see this:

and I think, "Ooh! I'm being creative!"

Greg sees this and says, "Why did you mess up your clean table when we have people coming over in 10 minutes?"

I'm trying to figure out how to scrapbook our trip to Santa Fe earlier this year, of which laying out all the colored cardstock was part of the process. I picked out all the pictures I want developed, but I can't decide how to do the layout and with what supplies. Maybe that's the problem, that I'm doing too much thinking and not enough doing. Greg asked me not that long ago when I would actually start to use my scrapbooking supplies at a faster rate than I acquired them . . .

Greg, the Aspiring Photographer

Greg has gotten quite the reputation (particularly among coworkers) as an amateur photographer. He's been asked to take portraits for several coworkers and their families, which I'm glad they liked enough to use:

Coworker Shaun's family blog (technically, more like Shaun's wife, Joyce's family blog):

And a couple of holiday cards:

Greg is taking more pictures for another coworker this Saturday (engagement pictures), so we'll get to see how those turn out when they send out invites. His sister's engagement pictures are in the pipeline, too.

Costco - It's What's for Dinner

Greg and I are big Costco fans. It's almost an obsession. I made a quick dinner tonight and realized (to my amusement) that everything that went into this ravioli:

came from Costco. See!

So maybe I just haven't figured out how to do this yet, but I'm not digging the Insert Picture function. It seems to insert pictures at the top of the post, instead of where my cursor is located. Boo.

I've Made the Switch

All right, boys and girls. I've made the switch.

For a couple months now, I've been contemplating a blog switch from LiveJournal.

LiveJournal: I'm sorry, it's not you - it's me.

Since being more active in the "blogosphere," I'm finding that Blogger is much more widely used in the blogging circles that I run in and frankly, has a lot more free junk (i.e. features). One thing that I wasn't really keen on with LiveJournal was that I never wanted to pay (and never did pay) for an upgraded account. So . . . I made the switch. Now comes several weeks of transferring all my old posts over!

"What do I have to do to get you in the front seat of a brand new Voyager episode?"

-Greg, tempting me to put off studying in favor of watching TV

I got my new passport in the mail last week! Now, I'm all set to go a-cruisin' in April.

I'm supposed to be studying for my Intermediate Accounting exam tomorrow, but I'm distracted by thoughts of scrapbooking and crafts. Greg helped me hang up my message board last night, next to the photo collage of us. I think it needs a little something else though. I was thinking of making a banner kind of like this by Meghan at Lucky 15. Stephanie also showed me a similar banner that her sister-in-law made for her. I'll have to post pictures if I get around to it, but I've got some other things on my scrapbooking/crafts "short list" for soft close (a.k.a. the closest thing to a winter break we'll ever have again).

"So did you take the Prius tonight?"

Greg and I went to his company's holiday party last night at the Fairmont Scottsdale Princess Hotel & Resort. Holiday parties are mainly about two things: 1) free food and drink, and 2) schmoozing. I like holiday parties because I like both #1 and #2, but I also like holiday parties because they give me a reason to break out my fancy cocktail dresses that I wouldn't normally wear otherwise. I didn't want to at first, but I decided that there's very little chance the same people would show up at both mine and Greg's holiday parties, so I'll be sporting the same outfit to both. I tried to use the possibility that there may be the same people at both parties - and I couldn't possibly wear the same dress if that were the case - as an excuse to justify buying more dresses, but man, Greg doesn't let anything get by him.

I spent the afternoon today cleaning up my craft room. Greg had previously declared it a pig sty. I can't say that the cleaning was all me. I did the work, but Greg had to "supervise" so that I would actually get it done at a reasonable pace. It's not completely done yet, but it's looking pretty good:

On another crafty-related note. This is my new favorite blog to read: Tim Holtz.
